The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Perform 2nd level support in the event of faults related to the Facility.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of all facilities – Generators, Rectifiers, UPS, Backup Batteries, HVAC , FM200 e.t.c. in all Main One locations (i.e. CLS, & PoPs).
  • Installation and Provisioning of Power for equipment.
  • Manage the MainOne's Data Centre.
  • Relate with public power company (CIE) to ensure problem is fixed within the shortest possible time.
  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all Facility related systems.
  • Planning and execution of improvement projects that may come up from time to time.
  • Monitor and control all ongoing projects to ensure they are carried out according to standards and specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of vendors’ maintenance activities for all MainOne facilities at designated site(s).
  • Develop procedures, maintenance schedules and checklist for systems at designated site(s).
  • Install / supervise contractors in the installation of systems and equipment.
  • Ensure timely report of fault to contractors/vendors for prompt resolution.
  • Carry out technical site survey of all proposed POP locations and make recommendations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely daily, weekly and monthly reports as agreed with Facility Manager.
  • Liaise with suppliers and other third-party providers.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies


  • BSC/HND in any relevant discipline.
  • Must be resident in Abidjan.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French fluently (written and spoken).
  • Minimum of 3 years in telecom facility operations & maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Facilities management.
  • Project management.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Contract/vendor management skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in working with AC and DC power systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
